Job Description:

Aircraft Maintenance Technician Apprentice role for Summer 2026 at Bombardier's Learjet facility in Wichita, KS. This is a temporary, part-time position for high school students to gain hands-on experience assisting with aircraft maintenance, inspections, and related activities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Adhere to General Work and Safety Requirements
  • Willing participant to both class room and On the Job training (Aircraft Systems and Structure)
  • Assist with pre/post experimental test inspections as trained
  • Assist with maintenance on experimental aircraft
  • Assist with aircraft ballast changes
  • Assist with installation of instrumentation, strain gauges, and accelerometers
  • Assist with aircraft towing, weighing, and related activities (Observer only)
  • Assist Mentor with release and recovery aircraft on taxi ramp
  • Assist with removal and re-installation of aircraft components, which obstruct the performance of assigned tasks
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and work areas to department and company standards

Requirements:

  • Entering Junior or Senior year of high school, at least 16 years of age
  • Passing grades from the previous year of schooling (2.5 GPA or above)
  • Maintain regular attendance and are punctual
  • Able to work between 20 and 32 hours per week
  • Available for minimum of 6 weeks, possibility to extend, based on performance and initiative
  • Complete on-the-job-training and any required reading in a timely manner
  • Possess basic computer skills necessary to perform job function (Microsoft Office)
