The Helicopter Handler & Refueller supports day-to-day operations of a Sikorsky S-76 fleet by managing ground movements, fuelling procedures, passenger handling, and ramp safety. This Temporary role is essential to ensuring the aircraft is prepared, protected, and serviced to the highest standard. This opportunity would suit someone with a genuine interest in aviation or rotary aircraft who is keen to gain hands-on experience over the summer period.
Job Responsibility:
Refuelling: refuel Jet A-1
complete quality checks, bonding/earthing and paperwork
Safety: follow airside procedures, PPE and hazard reporting
Pre-flight: support crew, escort passengers, load baggage, maintain cleanliness as required
Post-flight: assist shutdown, secure aircraft, refuel/service as required
Ramp: keep area organised and free of foreign object debris and obstructions
Records: complete fuel logs, movement records and checklists
Emergencies: support fire/first-aid and emergency procedures
Equipment: operate tugs, ground power units, refuelling kit and radios safely
Requirements:
Knowledge of aviation ground operations, preferably rotary-wing aircraft
Ability to follow technical procedures and complete records accurately (fuel logs, movement records, checklists)
Clear communication skills and ability to follow technical procedures and instructions
Comfortable with manual handling tasks
Ability to operate ground support equipment safely (tugs, ground power, refuelling equipment, radios
Safety-driven mindset with strong situational awareness
Calm under pressure and able to respond quickly to operational changes
Professional, reliable, and attentive to detail
Team-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Nice to have:
Knowledge of Sikorsky S-76 handling
Experience conducting or supporting refuelling operations (Jet A-1) and completing associated documentation
Certification in aviation fuel handling (or willingness to obtain)
Fire safety training

Previous experience operating tugs, Ground Power Units, and refuelling equipment in a controlled airside environment
