Seeking students and recent graduates of Boeing Pre-Employment Training (BPET) certified academic courses and Military Career Skills Programs to join 787 production teams as an Aircraft Assembly Electrical or System Mechanic to support the 787-production system in North Charleston, South Carolina on a variable shift. This role offers an opportunity within a dynamic manufacturing assembly environment to leverage prior experience and foundational training to complete daily assigned tasks safely and with quality.
Job Responsibility:
Adhering strictly to all safety protocols and guidelines
Maintaining rigorous quality standards
Look up/read/comprehend electronic technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications
Wear appropriate protective clothing/equipment
Operate various mechanical lifts
Use various hand tools and diagnostic equipment
Install various aircraft system components and wiring
Route wire harnesses to supports, install connectors to receptacles and electronic components
Fiber optic clean and inspection, light loss testing, routing and installation
Apply chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints and special finishes
Work in confined space and respirator usage
Inspect your work quality and check for Foreign Object Debris
Work around energized sources and exposure to constant noise
Requirements:
Be a student or recent graduate of a Boeing Pre-Employment Training (BPET) academic course or Military Career Skills Program certified for the BPET Assembly Structures Mechanic role
Must have a valid BPET Endorsement Form
Must have the ability to work variable shifts (first, second, or third) based on business needs
Ability to meet physical demands of the role such as flexion and extension, handling, kneeling, bending, reaching, standing, twisting, walking, climbing, crawling, crouching
Ability to lift/carry up to 10-35 pounds
Ability to work with high-hazard chemicals using proper protective equipment
Ability to complete and maintain Confined Space and Fall Protection certifications
Experience using software applications such as internet navigation, email, Microsoft Office Suite
Experience following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications in English
Experience in a manufacturing, technical, or mechanical field, including equivalent military experience, performing work with basic hand, power, and/or pneumatic (air) tools
Must successfully complete new hire foundational training
Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15
Proficient use of a computer in a dynamic production environment
