Job Responsibility

Provides professional care through high-quality assessment, triage / treatment to assess the nature and extent of a patient’s illness / injury and prioritize the needed care
Provides comprehensive care through skillful assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Functions autonomously outside of the hospital environment under standards and protocols approved by the Medical Director
Independently initiates advanced practice procedures to provide improved patient outcomes depending on job and scope of practice such as video laryngoscopy, (BAID) Blind airway insertion device, needle chest decompression, central line placement (EJ), intraosseous placement, and initiation/titration of pharmacological agents
Initiates and sets up ventilation equipment
Operates, assesses, and manages patient airway support, ventilator settings and equipment
Ensures patient care equipment is in proper working order and all supplies are present by utilizing daily check-off sheets and reporting any known issues
Ensures that the ambulance patient care area is clean, restocked, and kept in a neat and orderly condition at the beginning of each shift and when necessary to maintain a mission ready status
Must be capable of handling equipment challenges and failures without support of internal hospital resources
Obtains necessary signatures and paperwork for each transport

Job Responsibility

Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures.
Operates all campus heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment including boilers, steam absorption and centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, fans, pumps and systems in a manner that optimizes efficiency, safety, and occupant comfort per department policies and procedures with moderate level of guidance/assistance.
Maintains accurate records and reports on all equipment startup, failures, problems, work in progress and completed work through logbooks and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) with moderate level of guidance/assistance.
Proficient level of skill to utilize BAS as a tool for both monitoring and controlling HVAC equipment. Responds to alarms in a timely and correct manner. Optimizes operation using trending reports as appropriate.
Proficient level of skill to perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and other equipment as assigned per established procedures including inspection, cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, testing, flushing, minor repairs, rebuilding and replacing parts/components to ensure that systems remain within the established operating parameters.
Proficient level of skill to troubleshoot issues with HVAC equipment determine the root cause in a timely manner. Executes repairs or installations with minimal impact to the hospital and patient care. Appropriately requests assistance as warranted by the situation.
Responds to building occupant complaints in a timely and professional manner and takes appropriate corrective action. Keeps requester appraised of the status of corrective action.
Maintains current daily logs, preventive maintenance records and equipment repair files to comply with local, state and federal regulatory requirements as directed.
Performs routine general maintenance including painting, plumbing, carpentry, equipment testing and repair, ventilation, lighting, electrical, groundskeeping and snow removal. Performs repairs on a large variety of facility systems such as mechanical, electrical, building systems and other critical systems with moderate level of guidance/supervision.
Provides timely and proper response to assigned service calls, work orders and preventative maintenance to maintain a safe and efficient environment. Documents all tasks and work time on the CMMS.
