Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking a motivated and talented Air Proprietary Project Engineer (Lead or Senior) to join the Digital Engineering team in the St. Louis, Missouri region (Hazelwood or Berkeley, MO). You will be joining a high-performing, cross-functional team responsible for developing a future-ready, state-of-the-art Digital Ecosystem. This position is contingent upon a future contract award. In this role, you will lead the execution of the maturation of the digital ecosystem, which consists of interconnected technologies, platforms (such as manned and/or unmanned aircraft), and services that work together to enable collaboration and data exchanges among various participants, including customer and industry. This interconnectedness enhances customer mission readiness and effectiveness and drives innovation. In this role, you will drive program planning and execution to realize the program data management strategy, enable advanced data analytics and AI/ML, enable and streamline collaboration with customers and stakeholders, integrate high performance compute resources, networking infrastructure, and Service Desk activities. The role will require extremely strong organization, communication, and a proven track record in project execution management. This Project Engineer will help the Digital Ecosystem IPT leadership team with planning, coordinating, and managing the cross-functional tasks to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals. This includes collaborating with the internal teammates to define work packages, manage resources, develop execution plans, as well as manage subcontractor activities. Additionally, the role involves establishing strong relationships across the program and with the customer.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead project execution to complete the work statement
  • Identify performance metrics and uses the data to drive positive, predictable performance
  • Implement rolling wave planning techniques to adaptively plan for future work based on the capability roadmap, emerging technologies and program priorities
  • Support and lead Program Increment (PI) and Sprint planning activities, including collaborating with Product Owners to define and prioritize the backlog for the upcoming PI
  • Facilitate discussions to identify dependencies and risks, and develop and manage mitigation strategies
  • Foster a culture of transparency and collaboration across teams
  • Provide technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • (Level 4) 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

Nice to have:

  • (Level 5) 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Multi-disciplinary technical expertise, working knowledge or project engineering in Model Based Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, and Data Science, including in classified computing infrastructure and architecture, along with a working knowledge of Department of Defense cyber security requirements
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) Control Account Manager (CAM) experience and training
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
  • Knowledge of or experience with Siemens Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and systems integration between Teamcenter and Enterprise Resource Planning and Manufacturing Execution Systems
  • Experience with collaboration, agile planning, and DevSecOps tools (Jira, Confluence, Gitlab)

  • Monitor and report on all material validation findings across the Group to the relevant committees and boards
