Dedicated Air Arc Gouger (Nisku). Are you a specialist who thrives under the hood? We are looking for an elite Air Arc Gouger who specializes in heavy-wall pressure vessel fabrication. This isn't a "bit of everything" welding job—this is a straight gouging role for an operator who can deliver surgically clean grooves all day, every day. Job Responsibility:
Precision Back-Gouging: Utilizing Carbon Arc Gouging (CAG) to remove defects and prep the backside of seams for 100% penetration welds
Zero-Defect Prep: Identifying and removing slag, porosity, or inclusions to ensure all joints pass X-ray and UT inspections
Consistent Profile: Maintaining a steady depth and clean groove profile that allows sub-arc operators to follow behind you seamlessly
Heavy Vessel Focus: Working exclusively on heavy-wall pressure vessels for the energy and infrastructure sectors
Requirements:
Extensive experience with heavy-duty Air Carbon Arc Cutting (CAC-A)
Significant experience working on pressure vessels or large-scale tanks
Ability to work in a high-heat, noisy, industrial environment
