As the Director of AI and Software Engineering for the Actions suite within Alli, you’ll lead an innovative and collaborative team that thrives on solving complex challenges and delivering cutting-edge solutions. The Actions suite powers AI-driven tools that help scale digital marketing strategies for some of the world’s most renowned global brands. In this role, you’ll work closely with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional technology leaders, driving innovation while ensuring smooth, high-impact software delivery. You’ll be instrumental in shaping the technical vision, building scalable systems, and continuously improving the platform to meet the evolving needs of clients and the business. Job Responsibility:

  • Lead 2–4 distributed teams, responsible for 1–3 products within the Alli suite, ensuring they meet OKRs while driving continuous improvement and innovation
  • Provide technical oversight, guiding key architectural decisions to support scalable, data-intensive applications
  • Define team performance expectations, including growth, reducing technical debt, and delivering on product milestones
  • Partner with the Product team to evolve the roadmap based on customer feedback, team capacity, and business needs, balancing new feature development with addressing technical debt
  • Collaborate with cross-functional data and technology leaders to align strategies and deliver impactful solutions
  • Build and scale high-performing teams by upskilling existing engineers and hiring top talent, consistently raising the bar for quality
  • Stay ahead of GenAI and emerging technologies to ensure the platform remains at the forefront of industry innovation

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in a senior engineering IC role, or a related field, with a bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of experience as an engineering manager, with proven success leading and mentoring teams while remaining technically hands-on
  • Experience in a manager-of-managers role, overseeing multiple teams and products
  • Deep expertise with modern technologies for building highly scalable, data-intensive applications, with familiarity across at least 60% of PMG’s tech stack (e.g., AWS, GCP, Docker, Terraform, Python, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, OpenAI)
  • Proficiency in distributed system design principles, delivering performant, clean, and maintainable code
  • Strong understanding of MarTech and its role in shaping digital marketing strategies
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet to automate and streamline workflows
  • Hands-on experience or working interest in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and platforms such as OpenAI, Gemini, or Bedrock
  • Advanced knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring reliable and scalable deployments
  • A team-first mindset with exceptional communication skills to align cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • The ability to inspire and motivate teams, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with experience guiding teams toward multi-year roadmaps and delivering impactful results
