AI Software Engineer – Healthtech Startup. NYC-based healthtech startup building AI systems to remove the documentation and workflow bottlenecks that slow healthcare down. The goal is to make clinical operations faster, more reliable, and less wasteful. Hiring an AI Software Engineer to design and scale the core AI behind this platform – developing production-ready LLM systems that clinicians can actually depend on.

Job Responsibility

  • Architect and scale AI/ML systems for documentation automation and workflow optimization
  • Build LLM-powered features (RAG, fine-tuning, prompt engineering)
  • Develop evaluation frameworks to ensure safety, accuracy, and performance
  • Translate clinical requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Design and maintain data pipelines and monitoring for production ML

Requirements

  • Strong background in AI/ML engineering with production experience
  • Hands-on expertise with Transformers, Python/ML frameworks, and cloud infra
  • Have shipped production AI systems and made architecture decisions
  • Thrive in fast-moving, early-stage environments where ownership matters

Nice to have

Experience in healthcare or regulated industries (HIPAA, data security)
