The AI Operations & Enablement team serves as the engine for Bentley Systems' internal AI transformation. Our mission is to accelerate the adoption and impact of artificial intelligence across every part of the organization. We partner with our global business units - from product and engineering to marketing and finance to identify high-value opportunities and deliver practical, scalable AI solutions. By developing core processes, providing tools & training and sharing expertise, we empower our global teams across the company to innovate responsibly and effectively. The Enterprise AI Engineering team is responsible for selecting and building platforms that drive colleagues and their teams' ability to adopt AI. As an AI Software Engineer, you will leverage your software engineering experience combined with recent GenAI and ML skills to design enterprise-grade platforms that will power Bentley's business processes of the future.
Job Responsibility:
You will be a hands-on builder, writing the code for our core AI platforms. This includes creating DevOps pipelines for fellow developers, building task automation platforms, and implementing self-service features in Gemini Enterprise
You will build out the full solution, from backend services to the intuitive UIs that drive adoption of our platforms, ensuring a seamless experience for the engineers and business teams who use them
You will write the software that connects our platforms to cutting-edge models from our data science and research teams, making them accessible and scalable for the entire organization
You will apply modern development practices, including agent-driven development (ADD) and test-first approaches, to deliver high-quality, reliable, and well-tested platform components
You will collaborate with the AI Business Solutions team to ensure platform components meet requirements, contribute to Bentley Copilot by building and maintaining agents and deployment sandboxes, and implement and test integrations with 3rd party applications and vendor technologies
25% travel is expected
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Around 3 years of professional software development experience
Strong proficiency in an object-oriented programming language such as Python, Java, or C#
Hands-on experience developing and deploying applications using services from a major cloud provider (e.g., Azure Functions, AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Run)
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
Experience with components of MLOps, such as building CI/CD pipelines for model deployment (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
Practical experience with containerization using Docker and deploying services to Kubernetes
Familiarity with building simple UIs using a web framework (e.g., Streamlit, Flask, React) or low-code tools
Experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain) for model integration
