We are looking for a visionary AI Governance Specialist to lead the charge in establishing a world-class framework for safe, ethical, and effective Artificial Intelligence. In this high-impact role, you won’t just be following rules—you’ll be building the blueprint for how a complex, large-scale organization adopts AI. You will bridge the gap between cutting-edge innovation and robust integrity, ensuring that as we move faster, we move safely. The role: As our Ai governance lead you'll develop and maintain the policies, risk controls and change strategies that define our AI journey.You will act as the master orchestrator between Legal, Privacy, Ethics, and Procurement, ensuring every AI initiative is backed by rigorous assurance and transparency.
Job Responsibility:
Architect governance: Develop and maintain AI policies aligned with global standards like ISO/IEC 42001 and the NIST AI RMF
Manage risk: Lead the classification of AI systems and oversee treatment plans to mitigate bias and ensure fairness
Empower the organisation: Create the "Playbooks" and training programs that translate complex regulations into practical, everyday guidance for our teams
Strategic advisory: Provide expert evidence and insights to senior executives and external regulators
Build a movement: Establish a network of AI Champions to reinforce a culture of responsible and effective AI use across the agency
Requirements:
10+ years in Data and/or AI Governance
Hands on experience with Collibra, IBM Watson, Credo AI, or Informatica
Deep knowledge of AI frameworks (eg: NSW AIAF) and global AI regulations
Excellent stakeholder management with a proven ability to partner with diverse functions
Strong ability to design adoption strategies that stick
