Job Description

Student Exploration and Experience Development (SEED) is a 12-week internship opportunity at Veolia for students to gain hands-on experience in sustainability and ecological transformation. They will work on real-world projects, receive mentorship from industry professionals, and participate in workshops and networking events. The program aims to nurture talent, promote innovation, and foster meaningful connections between students and industry professionals. Overall, the SEED program provides students with the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to make a positive impact in the industry.

Job Responsibility

Support the development and implementation of an AI-powered agent
Work on real-world projects
Participate in workshops and networking events
Demonstrate familiarity with models, tools, and workflows for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and monitoring production-ready small language model applications

Requirements

Working towards a PhD degree in AI/ML/Computer Science
3.8 Cumulative G.P.A required
Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, presentation and facilitation skills
Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships
Familiarity with lightweight models such as Phi-3, Llama, Mistral, Gemma, and TinyLlama
Experience with Figma for UI/UX design
Experience with Jupyter Notebooks and pandas for data analysis
Experience with Hugging Face Model Hub
Experience building applications using LangChain or Lanngraph
Experience deploying models locally with Ollama or at scale with vLLM
Experience implementing semantic search and RAG using ChromaDB
Experience developing RESTful APIs with FastAPI or Express.js
Coding in VS Code with Python and Copilot extensions
Model fine-tuning using Hugging Face Transformers and PEFT methods like LoRA/QLoRA
Prompt engineering with LangSmith or PromptLayer
Version control with Git and DVC
Experiment tracking with MLflow or Weights & Biases
Unit testing with pytest or unittest
Model evaluation with RAGAS and DeepEval
Load testing with Locust or Apache JMeter
Quality assurance with LangChain Evaluators
Containerization with Docker or Docker Compose
Orchestration with Kubernetes or Docker Swarm
Model optimization with ONNX Runtime, OpenVINO, or llama.cpp
API management with Apigee
Observability with LangSmith
CI/CD with GitHub Actions or GitLab CI
Infrastructure experience with on-premise, cloud (GCP Vertex AI), or hybrid deployments
