Make your mark for the innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) program at Boskalis and contribute at the forefront of strategically integrating AI into our operations to drive efficiency. Our AI Strategy is designed to tackle business challenges within strategically defined themes on our assets, dredging and offshore vessels and our primary process, our tenders and projects. To achieve this ambition, we have positioned a new AI department of 21 people at a corporate level. The department is working on our AI portfolio created by our senior business leaders and validated by our Board of Management. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement (Gen)AI solutions that fulfil business needs.
Job Responsibility:
Focused on developing, building, deploying and implementing AI models (e.g. LLM and machine learning techniques) and solutions for various projects
Work closely together with the business user and domain expert and the Business Data engineer
Develop, build, and deploy AI solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs), including integration with vector databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, and prompt engineering
Apply frameworks for building scalable and modular AI solutions
Take ownership of the quality and reliability of AI solutions
Collaborate with diverse stakeholders (including vessel-related) to understand business requirements, translate them into technical AI solutions, and ensure effective communication to maintain alignment and progress
Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the (Gen)AI field
Requirements:
Hands-on experience and/or certifications using Databricks and/or Azure AI foundry for LLM utilization, data processing, exploration, and AI development
Strong skills in Python in the context of building and integrating LLM-based applications, including the use of vector databases (such as FAISS, Pinecone, or Azure AI Search)
Familiarity with frameworks like LangChain/LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, Pydantic and Model Context Protocol (MCP)
Experience in setting up RAG pipelines to combine contextual business data with generative AI
Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum
Strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to independently interact with end-users
Empathy for the business context: understanding the end-user's use case and actively thinking about how AI can deliver value in the short term
Ability to work independently on your own use case and translate technical possibilities into concrete solutions for business
A mindset geared towards continuous learning and curiosity for tackling new challenges
Ability to handle feedback and reset your course if needed
