You will work closely with mechanical, electronics, and software teams to turn existing AI capabilities into reliable tools, assistants, and workflows that improve how engineers work. This new role in our hardware R&D organization focuses on applying and integrating AI and LLM-based tools into engineering environments — not on developing new AI models. The intention being to save time, improve documentation quality, support better engineering decisions, and make engineering knowledge easier to find and reuse. You will help identify valuable use cases, build scalable internal solutions, and support adoption so the tools become trusted parts of daily engineering work.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and deploy AI-enabled tools such as chatbots, engineering assistants, reusable prompt workflows, and lightweight internal services
  • Connect AI solutions to the tools and knowledge sources engineers already use, such as Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Copilot, Azure, Confluence, PLM, SolidWorks, Altium or Altium 365, LabVIEW, TestStand, PowerBI, databases, and structured data files
  • Work closely with engineering teams to understand their needs, then prototype, integrate, document, and mature solutions together with IT and security colleagues

Requirements

  • Experience turning AI/LLM capabilities, eg Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar tools, into practical workflows, assistants, or internal services
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in engineering, computer science, IT, or a similar field
  • Hands-on experience with APIs, automation, and backend development, for example in Python, C#, Rust, or similar languages to connect tools
  • Familiarity with engineering environments and tools such as Git, CAD/PLM systems, documentation platforms, test systems, databases, or data visualization tools
  • Ability to work close to engineers, understand concrete pain points, and translate them into secure, maintainable technical solutions
  • Pragmatic mindset with focus on practical improvements, enterprise security and IP protection, and adoption in everyday engineering work

What we offer

  • Central Copenhagen location
  • 3Shape is a globally recognized tech company
  • An attractive healthcare package
  • Breakfast every day, and a delicious and healthy lunch cooked by our private chefs
  • A joint purpose: to enable dentists to provide superior dental care to every patient, every time
