Job Description:

Total Result Ag Consulting is a specialist provider of ruminant productivity solutions, with over 15 years of experience supporting dairy, beef and sheep enterprises across southern Australia. Founded by experienced industry leaders, the company delivers tailored business systems, mineral nutrition programs, and decision-support tools to help progressive farmers exceed their productivity and profitability goals. Total Result Ag Consulting is seeking a skilled Agricultural Consultant to join our team. You will work directly with livestock producers to provide expert advice on nutrition, pasture management, and farm productivity, helping clients improve the efficiency and profitability of their operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver expert support to livestock producers across southern Australia, focusing on animal nutrition, pasture strategies, and overall production systems grounded in scientific principles
  • Tailor consultancy services for both retail store clients and private consulting clients, offering custom advice based on evidence and performance goals
  • Provide on-farm advisory services to beef, sheep, and dairy operations, particularly in the areas of mineral supplementation, feed budgeting, and productivity
  • Assist producers in designing and managing rotational grazing systems, improving pasture use, and supporting feed intake strategies
  • Guide clients through hay and silage production planning — including crop selection, timing of harvest, and quality assessments to ensure consistent feed value year-round
  • Analyse feed and water test results to assess nutritional risks and develop seasonal mineral supplementation programs aligned with livestock requirements
  • Work closely with rural stores to deliver product training, seasonal planning, and support related to the company’s proprietary mineral supplement range (TPM)
  • Conduct regular follow-up visits to farms to assess animal performance and adjust recommendations based on seasonal conditions and client feedback
  • Run educational events such as field days and producer meetings to translate scientific research into real-world farm applications
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all technical recommendations, monitor farm-level outcomes, and contribute to internal continuous improvement efforts
  • Apply scientific understanding of animal nutrition and agroecology to deliver commercially viable, long-term solutions that improve animal health and farming sustainability

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Agricultural Consultant
  • Strong knowledge of ruminant livestock production systems (dairy, beef or sheep)
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills including data interpretation and decision support
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage and influence farm business owners
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work independently on‑farm and as part of a consulting team
