The Aggregate Maintenance Operator performs a combination of duties involving general maintenance/operation and fabrication in and around a large aggregate plant.
Job Responsibility:
Complete daily service requirements of an aggregate plant for preventative maintenance issues
Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance problems to ensure minimum cost and prevent operational delays
Monitor, repair, and change worn parts
General maintenance and welding for wear prevention of equipment
Work with other maintenance workers to complete large upgrades and other plant repairs
General labor duties such as shoveling and sweeping
Work with cranes, rigging, and manlifts to remove and replace parts and components at all facilities
Operate equipment as needed to complete jobs for maintenance, specific projects, and as needed
Requirements:
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work safely and follow rules and procedure outlined by company policies and applicable state and federal laws
Must be flexible with work locations and hours. Plants are located throughout the Central Coast from Paso Robles to Lompoc
Fabrication skills including structural welding, chutes, hoppers, and feed boxes.
Must be capable of welding in all positions. Primarily stick welding with some wire welding on certain projects
Available to work overtime, extended hours, and weekends as required for timely project completion
Ability to use various electric and air-powered hand, welding, and cutting tools as appropriate
Work with minimal supervision
Ability to lift 95 lbs infrequently, 50 lbs frequently and climb stairs/ladders up to 45'
High school diploma or GED
Nice to have:
4+ years of experience with open-pit sand and gravel operations
Working knowledge of aggregate production and associated equipment, and understanding of operations and safety requirements for the equipment
Experience in welding and fabrication
Understanding of the type and quality of materials being produced at the facility
