The Senior Manager, Development Engineering at NTT DATA is a pivotal role responsible for leading high-performance software development teams. Job Responsibility:
Participates in hands-on software development activities as needed, contributing to the development of critical features and modules
Organises, delegates, and oversees all development engineering tasks and deliverables
Allocates resources effectively to support development projects and optimize team productivity
Implements and oversees quality assurance processes, including code reviews, testing, and debugging
Ensures the implementation of Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, to enhance development efficiency and flexibility
Keeps abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation
Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of IT solutions
Identifies and manages potential risks and challenges in development projects and proactively implements risk mitigation strategies
Escalates any potential risks and challenges and risk mitigation strategies to senior leadership
Champions a culture of continuous improvement within the development team, encouraging feedback, and implements process enhancements
Verifies software development solutions/results with potential consumers and collaboratively decide on the best option/approach
Communicates and collaborates with relevant stakeholders, including relevant vendors as required
Participates in relevant technical decision making and solution development
Manages the maintenance and creation of all technical documentation as well as project roadmaps
Recommends project and programme budgets related to any development engineering activities
Provides technical expertise for products in development, new or improvement of existing
Reviews the research that others have done and what outcomes they have achieved to inform decision making process to decide direction to take
Understands markets, trends, and market analysis to appropriately decide what research needs to be developed
Manages innovation and development through strong technical market awareness

Extended demonstrated experience of delivering large software projects, utilizing Agile methodology
Extended demonstrated experience in new product introduction, reworking design changes and upgrades through to production
Extended experience of IT in a complex business environment with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms
Extended demonstrated experience in coaching and training facilitation
Proven working experience in a large-scale organization
Extended demonstrated experience of negotiation or management of vendors and third-party service providers
