Job Description

The Manager plays a key role responsible for the daily oversight and management of an assigned portfolio of multifamily loans, with a primary focus on risk mitigation efforts. As the primary point of contact, this role is responsible for monitoring emerging risk and working closely with borrowers and investors to seek remediation.

Job Responsibility

  • Subject matter expert on Asset Management tasks
  • Analyze financial statements and property operating statements
  • Conduct property inspections
  • Review reserve draws
  • Process consent requests, including related review of loan documents and other agreements
  • Manage client relationships, providing excellent customer servicing while enforcing loan document/lender requirements
  • Perform ongoing risk analysis, ensuring timely risk detection and appropriate monitoring
  • Identify CREFC watchlist triggers and prepare investor comments for assigned portfolio
  • Conduct market research and prepare market reports
  • Prepare loan and portfolio level status reports
  • Comply with all Investor monitoring and reporting requirements
  • Assists Team Leader in compiling information for investor audits, as needed
  • Handles special projects as assigned by Team Leader

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in Agency Asset Management
  • 6+ years of commercial real estate experience
  • 6+ years of experience analyzing property operating statements, rent rolls, and borrower financial statements
  • 6+ years of asset management experience with managing Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac Agency property inspection experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics
  • Freddie Mac Exempt Inspector Status or equivalent inspection experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Highly developed analytical skills including the ability to create complex spreadsheets and mine data
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Mortgage Banker’s Association (MBA) Multifamily Property Inspections Certification

  • Prepare property and loan level valuations using various valuation methodology such as discounted cash flows, direct capitalizations, and have discussion with appraisers and brokers for value opinions
  • Conduct on-site property inspections on heightened risk rated loans as needed
  • Participate in monthly loan risk rating process using Capital One proprietary systems
  • Prepare ad hoc portfolio reports and analyses to report out risk, value, payment, workout and other necessary metrics
  • Identify operational opportunities to aid in promoting accuracy and efficiency
  • Workouts and Resolutions: Develop and implement workout strategies for underperforming assets, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to maximize asset value and financial outcomes
  • Mentor, train and manage junior staff
