Job Description

After School Provision Assistant – Part-time, long-term temporary and ongoing starting ASAP, 3:30-6 pm. A recent inspection highlighted a warm, nurturing nursery environment where children feel safe, settled, and eager to explore. Staff build positive relationships with children and provide a rich range of activities that promote curiosity, independence, and early communication skills. Leaders maintain high expectations and ensure that routines, support systems, and learning experiences remain well structured. Families benefit from strong communication and a consistent focus on children’s personal development.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the delivery of engaging after-school activities and structured play
  • Supervise pupils to ensure a safe and positive environment at the end of the school day
  • Assist with organising resources, setting up activities, and maintaining routines
  • Encourage social interaction, cooperation, and positive behaviour
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support pupils’ wellbeing
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure all activities are conducted safely

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is desirable
  • Warm, patient, and able to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Understanding of inclusive practice and supporting varied needs
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to supporting children after school
  • Strong awareness of safeguarding responsibilities
  • Must have Level 3 Early Years Practitioner qualification or equivalent
