Job Description:

You’ll work within Core, our largest area, which focusses on the acquisition and support equipment systems and within the Air Environment. You will use your experience of propulsion systems, certification, or release to service, delivering activity against Engineering Management Plans, including engagement with various stakeholders, such as the Aviation Duty Holders, the air regulatory authorities and our industry partners to ensure systems and equipment are safe by design and remain safe to operate.

Job Responsibility:

  • Contributing to and delivering elements of the Engineering Management Plan
  • Ensuring technical risks are understood and managed
  • Development and maintenance of system requirements including in-service support
  • Managing engineering technical requirements (definition, architecture, integration, contract assessment, and change management)
  • Participating in design reviews, safety management, and safety case activities
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory policies and engineering procedures
  • Interfacing with industry as the intelligent customer both in a scrutiny role and supporting the identification of application risks
  • Supporting the development of requirements related to own area of specialism including acceptance plans, performance criteria, and draft specifications

Requirements:

  • Experience of providing technical advice and delivery of successful Mechanical or Mechatronic outcomes
  • A Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics based qualification at RQF Level 6
  • OR A Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics based qualification at RQF Level 4, together with a current Engineering Technician (EngTech) professional registration (or higher level)
  • OR A Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics based qualification at RQF Level 3, plus extensive relevant professional experience, together with a current Engineering Technician (EngTech) professional registration (or higher level)
  • Technical Competence: ECF_02 Safety Management – Awareness level
  • Technical Competence: ECF_03 Supportable Technical Solutions – Supervised Practitioner level
  • Core Behaviour: Making Effective Decisions CSBC 3
