We are pursuing an opportunity with the Department of Surface Transport, Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MoIT), Royal Government of Bhutan relating to Multimodal Transport and Trade Logistics Assessment, Formulation of Masterplan(s) and Supporting Capacity Development. The primary objectives of this World Bank-funded consulting services is to assist tMoIT in conducting a techno-financial feasibility assessment of Bhutan's inland waterways, ropeway and proposed rail routes. Additionally, the consultancy aims to develop a comprehensive multimodal transport and trade logistics master plan, as well as a detailed railway master plan for Bhutan.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering or relevant field
Minimum 7 years of experience in detailed aerial ropeway design
Experience in alignment, pylon, foundation, and station design
He or she must have served as a designer or technical expert in at least two comparable completed projects of similar complexity
The expert is expected to possess sound knowledge of relevant technical specifications, including pylon design, station design, cable tensioning, and material specifications
Nice to have:
Additional experience of procurement and maintenance of cable car systems in mountainous areas is desired
Experience supervising installation and commissioning is an advantage
