Advises assigned students for the purpose of assisting them in establishing plans and goals. Provides onboarding services to assist with required petitions, transfer credits, and course scheduling. Assists with graduation clearance process for assigned students. Reports to Associate Dean and works closely with other college advisors Dean to learn curriculum of relevant departments and assist and track curricular processes and changes. Utilizes university resources such as DegreeWorks, Advising 360, Banner, and Slate to process information and keep timely and accurate records. Interacts with students through meetings, phone, and/or email to troubleshoot or problem solve advising and retention challenges.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as Primary Academic Advisor for Assigned freshmen and sophomore students for the purpose of assisting them in establishing an academic plan and positive and effective strategies that will enable student retention and success.
Review degree audits of students who have applied for graduation (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer) to ensure they are on track and to resolve any issues that would prevent their timely completion of their degree program.
Collaborate with other professional advisors and Associate Dean to learn curriculum of relevant departments and assist and track curricular processes and changes.
Collaborate with other advisors to support advising efforts for in-person and online programs operating within the college.

Requirements:
Bachelor's is degree required
Master's degree is preferred
At least one year of college-level experience working with students in an advisory/support or teaching capacity is required.
