Job Description

Advises assigned students for the purpose of assisting them in establishing plans and goals. Provides onboarding services to assist with required petitions, transfer credits, and course scheduling. Assists with graduation clearance process for assigned students. Reports to Associate Dean and works closely with other college advisors to learn curriculum of relevant departments and assist and track curricular processes and changes. Utilizes university resources such as DegreeWorks, Advising 360, Banner, and Slate to process information and keep timely and accurate records. Interacts with students through meetings, phone, and/or email to troubleshoot or problem solve advising and retention challenges.

Job Responsibility

  • Advises assigned freshmen and sophomore students to establish academic plan and strategies
  • Reviews degree audits of students who have applied for graduation
  • Collaborates with other professional advisors and Associate Dean on curriculum and curricular processes
  • Collaborates with CLASS advisors for in-person and online programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • At least one year of college-level experience working with students in an advisory/support or teaching capacity is required
  • Experience with DegreeWorks, Advising 360, Banner, and/or Slate preferred
