Randstad is proud to partner with a leading government organisation seeking a proactive Media and Government Relations Advisor for a 6-month contract to support external communication and engagement activities. Reporting to the Team Leader of Government Relations and Media, you will play a key role in protecting and enhancing the organisation’s reputation. You will be responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and effective communication materials across both media and government channels.
Job Responsibility:
Media Management: Assist with media monitoring, reporting, and the coordination of media activities
Content Development: Draft and edit high-quality content for media, social media, and other corporate channels in line with brand standards
Government Relations: Prepare correspondence, briefing materials, and responses to Ministerial and MP enquiries
Crisis & Reputation: Apply critical and strategic thinking to all communications and emerging issues to support organisational priorities
Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong records and liaise with Ministers’ offices and government departments regarding media and event opportunities
Requirements:
Previous experience in a media, communications, or similar role is essential
Demonstrated experience working within or closely with a government agency
Strong understanding of media management, social media, and corporate communication principles
Ability to apply strategic thinking to sensitive communication issues and manage multiple tight deadlines
Exceptional drafting skills with the ability to create clear, accurate content for diverse audiences
A degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline is highly desirable
