Reporting to the Lead, Safety & Emergency Response, the Advisor, Health & Safety plays a key role in building a strong, proactive safety culture at Brucejack Mine. You’ll identify hazards, coach teams, and turn observations into practical actions - helping ensure everyone goes home safe, every day.
Job Responsibility:
Coach workers and leaders on safe work practices, risk identification, and incident reporting
Support site safety programs, including fatality prevention, injury reduction, and wellbeing initiatives
Conduct field inspections, audits, and hazard assessments in an operational mining environment
Partner with leaders to embed safety into daily operations
Support OHS Representative programs and frontline engagement
Participate in incident investigations and LOD1 assurance activities
Use safety data and observations to drive continuous improvement
Requirements:
Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field
CSO or NCSO certification (asset)
Experience in a field-based Health & Safety role, preferably within an underground mining environment
Previous mining experience, ideally within an operational site setting
Experience in construction or industrial environments (asset)
Strong knowledge of H&S systems, risk assessments, and incident investigations
Confident communicator with a hands-on, field-focused approach
Comfortable working with frontline teams and site leadership
Proficient in Microsoft Office
LMS experience an asset
Nice to have:
CSO or NCSO certification
Experience in construction or industrial environments
LMS experience
