Job Description

A Student Success Advisor provides academic advising to Exploratory and Success First students as they transition into the university, explore academic pathways, and select a major. Advisors guide students in developing academic plans and achieving educational goals through comprehensive knowledge of institutional programs, degree requirements, and support services. This role delivers personalized, proactive advising aligned with students’ academic and career interests to support progression, retention, and timely degree completion. Student Success Advisors leverage institutional systems, including CRM tools, to review student data, monitor progress, and execute targeted outreach and communication campaigns that engage current and prospective students in alignment with divisional priorities.

Job Responsibility

  • Serve as Primary Academic Advisor for Assigned Exploratory and Success First students for the purpose of assisting them in establishing an academic plan and positive and effective strategies that will enable student retention and overall student success
  • Assists with orientation and registration by planning/revising new student program materials, developing and presenting information, assisting students with advising/registration processes, and representing the college at other recruitment functions/events
  • Collaborate with campus partners to ensure students receive timely, clear information on academic opportunities and university policies, supporting informed decision-making
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Masters Degree required
  • At least one year of college-level experience working with students in an advisory/support or teaching capacity is required
