Job Description

The aim of this role is to support Leeds Citizens Advice & Law Centre, with a primary focus on the advice teams, in delivering a consistently accessible and high quality advice service to clients and colleagues. The postholder will support the service in carrying out their role through provision of efficient administrative and office support. The postholder will act as the main point of contact regarding legal aid within the Administration Team. You will support the organisation in meeting Legal Aid Agency (LAA) requirements including monitoring referrals for Legal Aid, completing financial assessments, and checking eligibility for clients. You will maintain accurate records to ensure that files can be submitted to the LAA for billing in a timely manner. You will have strong organisation and administration skills, and experience of working with a wide range of customers, clients and contacts in a busy service, producing accurate work and meeting deadlines. You will work as part of a small team, providing cover for each other’s duties, so flexibility and a positive approach to work are important attributes required for this role. Strong oral communication skills are essential as is the ability to listen, engage and empathise with potentially vulnerable clients.
