Job Description:

The Advanced Assembly Technician at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) will play a crucial role in the precision assembly of complex components and systems. The successful candidate will work on high-tech manufacturing projects, contributing to the development of innovative products and technologies.

Job Responsibility:

  • Precision assembly of complex components and systems
  • Operate advanced assembly equipment and specialized tools
  • Conduct quality assurance and troubleshoot assembly issues
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other technicians
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assembly processes
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations
  • Mentor and train junior technicians and apprentices

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar assembly role
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and assembly
  • Experience in electrical/electronics
  • Manual machining capabilities
  • Strong hands-on experience with advanced assembly tools and equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Certifications in advanced assembly techniques or related areas
