Job Responsibility
Move beyond general support to design, plan, and deliver individualised teaching sessions focused heavily on communication, social interaction, and vital life skills.
Provide behaviourally-based teaching and positive reinforcement to help autistic pupils achieve their full potential.
Participate in breaktime duties, playground socialisation, snack times, and off-site educational trips.
Support pupils with a high level of need, following individual behaviour guidelines and assisting with personal care (feeding, toileting) where necessary.
Contribute to curriculum maintenance, research, and your own continuous personal development.
Requirements
Experience: Proven professional, personal, or voluntary experience working with children and disabilities (your TA background is highly valued here!).
Education: Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths.
Resilience: Comfortable working with pupils experiencing high levels of need, including dysregulated behaviours, and a proven ability to stay calm in high-pressure environments.
Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including twisting, stooping, and working at a lower height.
Mindset: A positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
