Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Advanced System Designer for Video and Artificial Intelligence Avionic Computer (m/f) to join ou Avionics Platform & Cokpit Systems Team based in Toulouse, France. At Airbus, the Cockpit & Platforms Avionics Domain proposes a dynamic Domain which combines connectivity, data and autonomy technologies for more integrated aircraft, efficient operations and services, serving all functions with powerful shared resources. You will join a Systems Engineering team of 18 people dedicated to Avionics Platforms and Shared Resources (ATA-42). In this technical area, the core technology bricks are Integrated Modular Avionic (IMA), core processing and data-concentration computers (CPIOM, CRDC) as well as data and video networks (ADCN/AFDX). This equipment hosts computing and data communication functions for many systems including safety-critical systems (flight controls, landing gear, powerplant, electrics…) on existing (A350, A400M, A380) and are foundations for future Airbus A/C Programs (starting with R&T demonstrators). As part of this team you will drive the technical design and definition of a new IMA avionic computer dedicated to Video and Artificial Intelligence, a critical hardware/software component within Airbus next-generation system architecture (DAL-C).
Job Responsibility:
Capture high-level functional needs to define and mature the Video and AI computer technical characteristics
Explore different technologies and products available on the market to support the identified needs
Derive and mature unambiguous technical specifications
Identify and perform trade-offs studies to target the best compromises
Identify and mitigate technical risks
Define the architecture for Video and AI avionic computers as part of the overall next-generation system architecture
Support preliminary resources allocation of targeted software applications hosted on the Video and AI computers
Identify integration constraints and sizing needs from the platform including integration with a new video network
Initiate Validation & Verification and Certification strategy
Proactively capture lessons learned and improvement opportunities from current programs to shape the development of future IMA-dependent aircraft platforms
Requirements:
Graduate degree in Engineering
Experience in Avionics Computer development and architecture (Hardware / Software)
Experience in GPU (for video processing and heavy computations)
Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Proven capacity for proactive, autonomous work, coupled with good organizational and rigorous execution skills
Good communication and stakeholder management abilities, demonstrating a collaborative and team-player mindset
Nice to have:
Experience in Neural Network and Artificial Intelligence
Prior experience in the end-to-end development of aircraft systems
Experience in Integrated Modular Avionic principles
