Job Description:

Banner Defense is in search of an Advanced Radar Engineer who will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Theater-Based Defense (TB), Mobile Land-Based (MLB) Sensors Program Office. This position is responsible for ensuring all requirements are met in accordance with agency protocols, contracts, and government regulations. Individual will also support future Gold Dome of America radar engineering efforts.

Job Responsibility:

  • Serves as Mobile Land-Based Sensors Program Office coordinator for AN/TPY-2 Forward Base Mode (FBM) Surveillance Radar Army Materiel Release (MR) and Fielding
  • Supports the MR process to ensure the AN/TPY-2 radar is safe, suitable, and supportable for the warfighter
  • Coordinate and secure approval
  • develop, coordinate, and prepare Materiel Release (MR) products to include program inputs, assist with developing MR artifacts, and handling MR data products for the sensor engineering technical and management team
  • Support THAAD Weapon's MR Coordinator with AN/TPY-2 Terminal Mode Radar component support as it relates to MR and fielding
  • Assist TBS with carrying out Lead Systems Engineering responsibilities for the TPY-2 Product Management Office
  • Coordinate with the Warfighter community (US Army Space and Missile Defense Command) on radar requirements
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare minutes/notes, and track action items to closure
  • Supports the THAAD International Engineering Services Program (IESP) with AN/TPY-2 Terminal Mode Radar component support
  • Provide periodic radar updates to the local UAE and KSA Foreign Liaison officers (FLO) offices on IESP-related Radar Software Maintenance
  • Occasionally, as requested: Serve as Integrated Product Team (IPT) leader for one of the Product Office's R&D oriented IPTs
  • Assign, coordinate, track, and report action item status and taskings across the IPT
  • Provide surveillance, oversight, coordination and status reporting for various development activities to include, but not limited to, software and hardware requirements review and verification changes for Hardware and software impacts
  • traces reviews to/from software and firmware requirements specifications
  • Develop and brief weekly updates at product office weekly staff meetings with product office leadership and industry prime contractor
  • Coordinate/Collaborate with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) organizations and MDA-external organizations to facilitate select aspects of radar test and evaluation activities
  • Provide system engineering and software development support, including assessments and analyses of requirements, strategies, designs, specifications, plans, alternatives, metrics, processes, and development issues
  • On occasion, provide radar on-site support for software upgrades associated with radar software testing, Flight and Ground Tests, and early integration events
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM and 12+ years of proven experience in DoD air and missile defense, or a related role within a government or contractor environment
  • Expertise in THAAD Weapon, TPY-2 FBM radar, Patriot, or Sentinel Army radars, or Navy Aegis radar
  • Proficiency in US Army Materiel Release
  • Working knowledge of Air and Missile Defense radar systems
  • Working knowledge of US Army Materiel Release process
  • Technical working knowledge of Systems Engineering "V" process
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use problem-solving skills to deal with issues as they arise
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Travel may be required
