As an Advanced Processing Bonding & Contacting Production Engineer, you will directly support ASML's mission to enable the world's most advanced chip manufacturing. You will contribute to the development, stabilization, and continuous improvement of optical bonding and contacting processes used to manufacture precision glass components. In this role, you will work in a dynamic, collaborative manufacturing environment, partnering with production teams, development groups, and cross-functional engineering organizations to create safe, stable, and highly reliable processes that meet demanding quality and performance requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Support ownership of optical bonding and contacting processes, contributing to safety, quality, yield, and process stability under guidance of senior engineers
Support the development, execution, and maintenance of process control strategies, acceptance criteria, and monitoring methods
Track and analyze process performance metrics to support technical decision-making and continuous improvement
Participate in investigations and resolution of process-related issues, deviations, and escalations
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to reduce variation, improve capability, and increase first-pass yield through data-driven analysis and structured problem-solving methods
Identify and raise process-related safety risks, supporting mitigation through process design, controls, and documented operating practices in partnership with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS)
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including work instructions, qualification reports, test plans, and safety-related analyses, to support compliant and repeatable execution
Partner with engineering, operations, and development teams to support daily production, sustain stable processes, and enable new product introduction
Requirements:
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across engineering, operations, and all levels of management to drive alignment and execution
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and apply structured problem-solving methods to define root causes and support corrective actions
Strong technical problem-solving skills, with curiosity, attention to detail, and a systematic, data-driven approach
Ability to work proactively, adapt quickly, and contribute effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Ability to organize work logically, manage multiple priorities, and drive issues to closure with appropriate guidance
Experience operating in controlled manufacturing or laboratory environments, with disciplined adherence to procedures and standards
High comfort level working directly with hardware and spending significant time in cleanroom and manufacturing environments
Mindset oriented toward identifying and reducing risk, improving process robustness, and driving continuous improvement
Ability to build strong working relationships and contribute positively to a collaborative, team-based engineering culture
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
2+ years of related experience
You must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship
Nice to have:
Hands-on experience working directly with mechanical systems, tools, fixtures, equipment, or custom hardware, including troubleshooting and root-cause identification through physical experimentation
Experience working with contamination-sensitive processes or precision components
Exposure to semiconductor, optics, or advanced manufacturing environments
Familiarity with common manufacturing and problem-solving tools (e.g., DMAIC, A3, 8D, FMEA, DOE)
Working knowledge of statistical process control (SPC)
Experience with scripting or software development for manufacturing or engineering applications
