Advanced Practitioner - Children with Disabilities

Job Responsibility

  • Model exemplary, strength-based statutory practice, taking on a highly focused, complex caseload that utilizes your advanced clinical judgment
  • Support the Team Manager by providing high-quality guidance, running reflective group supervision, and mentoring newly qualified social workers (ASYEs) and students
  • Drive the execution of robust, holistic assessments that factor in complex medical, physical, and learning disabilities, ensuring packages of care are precisely tailored
  • Lead on case file audits, champion service compliance, and ensure the unique voice and communication methods of every child are embedded in their care plans

Requirements

  • A recognized Social Work degree and an active registration with Social Work England
  • A minimum of 3 years' post-qualifying social work experience explicitly held within a UK Local Authority Children's Social Care setting
  • Recent, direct experience working within a dedicated Children with Disabilities (CWD) team
  • The confidence to lead, challenge practice constructively, and step up to support the team's overarching development
