The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides care to complex acute, critical and chronically ill patients and manages the plan of care. The APP is experienced and works autonomously, as well as in collaboration with other health care professionals, to diagnose and manage patients' acute and chronic health care needs. APP patient coverage may require regularly scheduled days, weekends, holidays and on-call obligations.
Job Responsibility:
Assesses the complex acute, critical and chronically ill patient for urgent and emergent conditions
Performs therapeutic interventions to stabilize acute and critical health problems
Manages the plan of care through evaluation, modification and documentation
Facilitates the patient's transitions between and within health care settings
Serves as an educational resource to the patient/family, nursing staff, and provider team
Participates in scholarly activities including research and education
Demonstrates a commitment to patient safety
Requirements:
NICU clinical experience is preferred
Graduate of a NLN accredited graduate program and NCC certification (for NNP)
Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited graduate program and NCCPA certification (for PA)
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate license in state of California
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) furnishing license
