Job Description:

Seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for a Medical House role at UH St. John’s Medical Center. The APP will be responsible for hospital admissions, general house calls, coordination of care and discharge planning in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team. The schedule rotates days, nights (eligible for night shift incentive program), weekends and holidays. APP experience is preferred and will consider new grads for the New Grad APP Training Program. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for providing quality care for patients and increasing patient access and satisfaction. Standard tasks to be performed by an Advanced Practice Provider as specified by the Ohio State Board of Medicine or Nursing and UH entity specific Medical Bylaws.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited PA educational program
  • (MSN) Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • 1+ years as a Physician Assistant (Preferred)
  • 1+ years as a Nurse Practitioner (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships
  • Computer skills to access patient medical data from UHHS mainframe
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Physician Assistant (PA) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
  • Passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination
  • Practice with a supervising physician
  • Maintain national PA Certification
  • Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the State of Ohio
  • Current APRN License

Nice to have:

  • APP experience is preferred
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
