Job Description:

Seeking a full time Advanced Practice Provider for the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care unit at UH Cleveland Medical Center. The APP will manage post cardiac surgery patients both planned and emergent, durable and non-durable mechanical circulatory support, and lung and heart transplant patients with opportunity for procedural experience. The schedule is rotating days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Nurse Practitioners must be acute care. Will consider new grads for the New Grad Training Program.

  • Advances own professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education and participation in peer review
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited PA educational program
  • (MSN) Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • 1+ years as an Advanced Practice Provider (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships
  • Computer skills to access patient medical data from UHHS mainframe
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Physician Assistant: Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
  • Passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination
  • Practice with a supervising physician
  • Maintain national PA Certification
  • Nurse Practitioner: Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Current APRN License

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years as an Advanced Practice Provider
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for Physician Assistant
