Job Description

The Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and treatment of care for patients under the supervision of a licensed physician.

Job Responsibility

  • Outpatient medical consultation services under the supervision of a physician
  • Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating new and existing patients’ medical conditions
  • Conducting follow-up patient care
  • Ordering and interpreting lab, radiology, and other diagnostic study results
  • Prescribing and referring patients for consultations when appropriate
  • Answering emergency telephone calls on a rotating schedule
  • Administering and ordering drugs for patients
  • Completing all notes/tasks in patients’ EMR accounts indicating patient status and treatment procedures performed
  • Performing patient physicals
  • Providing health education to patients and families
  • Supervising/coordinating the activities of patient care and support staff within the clinic
  • Performing other duties as assigned in accordance with a nurse protocol agreement

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-year clinical experience in Primary Care, Family Practice, or Urgent Care
  • Master's in Nursing or Master's in Physician Assistant
  • Current Licensed as Family Nurse Practitioner or Certified Physician Assistant in Georgia
  • Current board certification by AANP/ANCC (NPs) or NCCPA (PAs)
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or eligibility to obtain
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
