Orthopaedics and Limb Reconstruction| Part Time | Internal Applications Only. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the highly specialised Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy team working across trauma and orthopaedics, spinal surgery and limb reconstruction. Sheffield Children's Hospital is a Major Trauma Centre, International Limb Reconstruction Centre and regional Tertiary centre for orthopaedics. The role incorporates acute inpatient, preoperative, post-operative, clinic and outpatient caseloads. In these roles you will act as a source of expertise and demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience within your respective fields. Job Responsibility
To provide a highly specialised service that includes the assessment, treatment and management of children and adolescents within the specialities of trauma & orthopaedics, spinal surgery, limb reconstruction, Burns and Plastics
To act as a source of expertise and demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience in the highly skilled management of children within these specialities
To provide specialist advice to other multi-professional staff and to provide clinical education and training to others including Band 6 therapists, assistant staff and students
To take a lead role in the management of more difficult and complex cases within a multi-disciplinary team approach acting as an autonomous practitioner
To work as part of the BOPP's Sunday working service
Requirements
Degree / Diploma in Physiotherapy
HCPC Registration
Relevant post graduate courses / CPD
Portfolio evidence of reflective practice
Significant and relevant paediatric Orthopaedic / PLRS / Spinal surgery experience
Acute and on-going rehabilitation experience
Appraisal / supervision / teaching of more junior staff
Audit / Research projects
Nice to have
MSc in Paediatric Physiotherapy or equivalent
Research qualification
Active involvement in relevant CSP special interest groups or voluntary organisations
