Job Responsibility:
To provide a highly specialised service that includes assessment, advice and management of children and adolescents with a range of motor co-ordination difficulties and autistic spectrum disorders.
To act as a source of expertise and demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience in the highly skilled management of children with developmental co-ordination and behavioural disorders which affect their functional abilities and activities of daily living.
To provide specialist advice to other inter-agency professional staff and to provide clinical education and training to others including Senior II therapists, support staff and students.
To take a lead role in the management of more difficult and complex cases within a multi-disciplinary team approach acting as an autonomous practitioner.
To work in the community setting frequently as a lone Practitioner in line with the Trusts lone worker policy.
Requirements:
BSc in Occupational Therapy or Dip COT
HCPC Registration
Relevant post graduate courses / CPD
Portfolio evidence of reflective practice
Significant and relevant post graduate experience Paediatric developmental coordination disorders / autistic spectrum disorders
Community / lone worker experience
Standardised Assessment tools

Appraisal / supervision / teaching of more junior staff
