The Advanced Numerical Simulation team is a part of the ‘Structural Analysis’ group in the Structures department and plays a key role across the lifecycle (Design, Certification and Inservice) of current and future aircraft programmes by developing and deploying state of the art and credible advanced numerical structural simulations.
Job Responsibility:
Assessing the static and dynamic strengths using Linear / Non Linear Finite Element Analysis to evaluate the structural integrity of the aircraft for the gamut of loads aircrafts are subjected to
Detect unforeseen structural design issues and recommend structural design modifications during the aircraft development
Support certification of the aircrafts by derisking certification tests
Carrying out Root Cause Analysis and support resolving inservice issues
Use simulations to optimize manufacturing and assembly processes
Develop new simulation methods to make simulations more credible
Automating simulation lifecycle processes to reduce manual efforts and simulation timelines
Explore digitization techniques such as AI / ML to augment simulations
Requirements:
Strong engineering fundamentals including knowledge of Engineering mechanics, Strength of materials and Stress analysis of metallic and composite structures
Strong understanding of the different types of structural Nonlinearities
Strong understanding and hands on knowledge of all the phases of FE simulations
Knowledge of scripting languages
Awareness of advanced technologies such as AI and ML
