As an Advanced Manufacturing Project Engineer with Husco, you will be responsible for project design/leadership of automation equipment- typically new product lines for OEM applications, development of new manufacturing technology, and support of new product lines or major improvements of existing product lines in support of Husco’s strategic objectives.
Job Responsibility:
Leads New Automation Equipment Development and Implementation: Manage design resources and production to design, quote, specify, order, debug, receive, install, and runoff new production equipment. Support new product development activities to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met
Develop and Implement New Manufacturing Processes: Conceives, develops, and successfully implements new manufacturing processes and technology in support of strategic objectives
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders: Interface between Marketing, Design, and Production to ensure designs are acceptable for manufacturing, equipment is designed in accordance with the designs presented, and the equipment will work with already existing equipment
Upgrade Materials and Equipment: Preparation for financial analysis for capital expenditures for tooling and equipment needed in support of existing product lines or processes. Monitor and control all phases of new equipment construction from design approval through implementation
Demonstrate Project Management: Demonstrate technical expertise in project management, including scheduling, tracking, team assignments, allocation of resources, status reports, facilitating effective problem solving, “selling” of new and innovative concepts
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Machine Design, or Mechanical Engineering
Three (3) years of manufacturing and project management experience
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects, collaborating cross-functionally to deliver results on time
Experience in designing and building automated equipment, working in an organization that has successfully used automation in manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
Working knowledge of engineering calculations including but not limited to: kinematics, power, torque, structural, cylinders, cams, air and oil flow/pressure calculations, machine cycle time, etc.
