As an Advanced Care Paramedic at Newmont Brucejack Mine, you will provide critical onsite emergency medical services, addressing both urgent and non-urgent medical needs. Your expertise will directly support injury prevention, health promotion, emergency response, and patient care coordination, ensuring the health and safety of all site personnel.
Job Responsibility
Respond to trauma cases, provide advanced life support, emergency medical care, and stabilize patients for on-site or offsite transport
Manage onsite occupational injuries and illness
Administering medications, perform advanced airway management, use cardiac monitoring equipment, and follow medical protocols
Responsible for clinic inventory and medication ordering
Assess patients prior to dispensing over-the-counter medications and conduct regular health assessments, injury surveillance, and fitness-for-work evaluations
Accompany patients during ground or air transfers to higher-care facilities as needed, assessing risk versus benefit based on conditions
Working in collaboration with the Registered Nurse (RN) and have the ability to work independently
Collaborate with Emergency Response Team
Maintain, calibrate, and ensure operational readiness of all medical equipment, supplies, and emergency response kits
Document medical incidents, treatments, and patient care accurately, maintaining confidentiality and compliance standards
Support health promotion initiatives, contribute to site safety programs, and participate in emergency planning meetings
Maintain readiness for on-call duties and extended hours based on operational needs
Requirements
Valid Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) certification in British Columbia
Valid Class 5 Driver's License
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and BLS (Basic Life Support) are required
7–10 years of experience in emergency medical services (industrial setting experience preferred)
Comfortable with both ground and air patient transfers
ITLS (International Trauma Life Support) certificate is an asset
Strong critical thinking, teamwork, flexibility, and independent decision-making skills
Air transport experience and ability to assess transport risks during challenging conditions
