The Advanced Assembly Technician at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) will play a crucial role in the precision assembly of complex components and systems. The successful candidate will work on high-tech manufacturing projects, contributing to the development of innovative products and technologies. This position requires a deep understanding of advanced assembly techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to work with sophisticated tools and equipment.
Job Responsibility:
Perform complex and precise assembly tasks, including the integration of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components
Follow detailed assembly instructions, blueprints, and technical documentation to ensure high-quality results
Operate advanced assembly equipment and specialized tools, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of tools to maintain optimal performance
Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues, implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain product integrity
Work closely with engineers, designers, and other technicians to solve technical challenges and optimize assembly processes
Provide feedback on design and assembly processes to support continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, test results, and any deviations from standard procedures
Update assembly documentation and work instructions as needed to reflect process improvements or changes
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in assembly and manufacturing processes
Mentor and train junior technicians and apprentices, sharing expertise and promoting skill development within the team
Stay updated on the latest assembly technologies and techniques through ongoing training and professional development
Requirements:
Experience in a similar assembly role
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions
Experience in electrical/electronics
Manual machining capabilities
Strong hands-on experience with advanced assembly tools and equipment
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Nice to have:
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
Certifications in advanced assembly techniques or related areas
