Job Description:

We are looking for a compassionate Adult Residential Support Worker to join a friendly day team in Fareham. You’ll support adults in a residential care setting, encouraging independence, promoting an active lifestyle, and delivering person-centred care. This role is ideal for someone with adults residential experience who is confident supporting people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours in a positive, engaging way.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting service users with personal care, cooking, and cleaning
  • Acting as a key worker and completing required reports and paperwork
  • Encouraging engagement in community activities and attending appointments
  • Using service users’ vehicles for outings and activities
  • Assisting with de-escalation and managing challenging behaviours (training provided)

Requirements:

  • Must have the right to live and work in the UK
  • Must have experience working in adults residential care
  • 6–12 months of UK experience in a care environment, ideally in a learning disability setting
  • Understanding of challenging behaviours
  • Computer literacy
  • Reliable, empathetic, and trustworthy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident and able to positively influence the lives of service users
  • Willingness to actively engage in activities in and out of the home
