Job Description:

Play a vital role in supporting children waiting for adoption and ensuring they have a safe and loving forever home. Duties are multifaceted, involving direct work with children and families, administrative tasks, and collaboration with other professionals.

Job Responsibility:

  • Evaluate the child's physical, emotional, and social development, and identify any concerns or challenges
  • Establish a strong rapport with the child, creating a safe and supportive space for open communication
  • Represent the child's interests and ensure they have access to appropriate services and support
  • Prepare children for adoption
  • Provide ongoing support to the child throughout the adoption process, offering reassurance, guidance, and emotional support
  • Assess children's needs and circumstances to determine the most appropriate adoptive family
  • Carefully match children with adoptive families based on their assessed needs and the adoptive family's experience, resources, and capacity to provide support
  • Support both the child and the adoptive family during the legal process of adoption, ensuring all paperwork is completed correctly and all necessary steps are taken
  • Monitor the adopted child's well-being, ensuring they are thriving in their new home and receiving the appropriate support
  • Meticulously document all interactions, assessments, and interventions in the child's file, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records
  • Provide information to the court about the child's circumstances and the adoption process
  • Respond to any concerns about the child's welfare, conducting investigations and taking appropriate action to protect the child
  • Advocate for the child's best interests throughout the adoption process, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard
