Job Description:

This position sits in our Experience & Engineering business unit. We primarily deliver large-scale website design and build projects, combining our skills in developing future-ready technical solutions with our expertise in creating beautiful designs to help clients including Nikon, London Marathon Events and END. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional and engaging digital experiences. As an Adobe Experience Architect, you will lead the technical vision and architecture for enterprise-scale Adobe Experience Cloud implementations — primarily Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Adobe Target, and Adobe Analytics — across a range of high-profile clients in the UK and Ireland region. You’ll partner closely with solution architects, front-end and back-end developers, UX and data teams, and client stakeholders to design scalable, composable, and AI-ready digital ecosystems that connect content, commerce, and data. This is a senior expert role that blends platform architecture, solution design, and hands-on technical leadership.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead end-to-end Adobe Experience Cloud architecture and solution design for large-scale digital platforms
  • Define the to-be architecture, data flows, and integrations between AEM, commerce engines (Shopify Plus, CommerceTools), CDPs, and marketing systems
  • Oversee technical discovery, feasibility assessments, and estimation for new client opportunities
  • Translate business and creative requirements into AEM component frameworks, templates, workflows, and APIs
  • Provide technical governance, ensuring code quality, performance, and alignment with Adobe best practices
  • Collaborate with DEPT®’s global engineering and delivery pods (UK, EMEA, India) to scale Adobe delivery capability
  • Guide the migration of legacy CMSs or DXP systems (e.g., Drupal, Sitecore) to Adobe Experience Manager
  • Stay current on emerging Adobe Cloud innovations (AEM as a Cloud Service, Edge Delivery Services, GenAI capabilities) and advise clients on adoption strategies
  • Support sales, scoping, and pre-sales architecture activities with platform demos, effort modelling, and technical storytelling
  • Mentor engineers and solution architects in Adobe technologies and composable ecosystem design

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) architecture, including both on-prem and Cloud Service
  • Strong grasp of Adobe Experience Cloud stack — AEM, Adobe Target, Analytics, and ideally Workfront or Campaign
  • Expertise in Java-based web frameworks, Sling/OSGi, REST APIs, and integration patterns
  • Familiarity with headless and hybrid AEM implementations (GraphQL, SPA Editor, Next.js)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with modern frontend ecosystems (React, TypeScript) and integration with Adobe’s authoring layer
  • Understanding of CDN, caching, and content delivery optimization
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business value narratives for clients and senior stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Nice to have:

  • Adobe Certified Expert (AEM Architect or Developer)
  • Exposure to Shopify Plus, CommerceTools, or Bloomreach within composable DXPs
  • Experience in AI-driven content personalization or Adobe Sensei integrations
  • Understanding of multi-cloud integration (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
What we offer:
  • A flexible, hybrid working policy (2 days from the office, depending on location)
  • Social and Cultural Events, plenty of opportunities to connect with colleagues through organised activities and celebrations
  • Inspirational Talks, bringing the outside in with regular guest speakers and events
  • Learning and Development, supporting your growth with continuous opportunities to learn and advance
  • Buddy Programme: You will be paired with a ‘Buddy’ to help you through your first weeks’ at DEPT®
  • A reputation for doing good. DEPT® has been a Certified B Corp® since 2021 and named ‘Agency of the Year’ at both The Lovies and The Webby Awards
  • Awesome clients. Whether big or small, local or global — at DEPT® you’ll get the opportunity to work with clients of all sizes and across all industries. And we celebrate all of our successes together!
  • The opportunity for possibility. We want to enable you to do what you do best and help you develop your skills further with training, development and certifications
  • Global annual DEPT® Cares Month in which employees come together and donate their skills to support local charities
