Job Description

We are looking for an experienced ADMS Technology Engineer to support the design, development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and related utility technologies. This role is responsible for working across the full software engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system design, development, testing, deployment, and operational support. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams including system operators, product managers, analysts, and technical teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions that support grid operations and real-time utility environments. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and experience working with complex system integrations.

Job Responsibility

  • Analyze business and operational requirements and translate them into technical solutions, system configurations, and implementation plans
  • Design, develop, test, and support software solutions, tools, and platforms across the full SDLC
  • Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective solutions
  • Support deployments, upgrades, patches, and releases across development, test, and production environments
  • Monitor system performance and ensure solutions meet reliability, operational, and service level requirements
  • Work with system integrations including SCADA, GIS, OMS, DMS, ICCP, and enterprise data platforms
  • Perform system configuration, log analysis, and troubleshooting across software, hardware, and network environments
  • Maintain and patch Windows and Linux servers
  • support virtualized environments (VMware)
  • Develop documentation including technical procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guides
  • Create operational and analytical reports (e.g., Power BI dashboards) to support business decisions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4–8+ years of relevant experience in software engineering, system integration, or utility technology environments
  • Hands-on experience with ADMS, SCADA, OMS, DMS, or related utility operational technologies
  • Strong understanding of utility operations, grid management systems, and real-time operational environments
  • Experience with system integrations and interfaces (SCADA, GIS, ICCP, historian systems, enterprise data platforms)
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting software, hardware, network, and integration issues
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration including command-line operations
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP/LAN, firewalls, network topology)
  • Experience with deployments, patches, upgrades, and production support
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across technical and operational teams

Nice to have

  • Experience working in utility or energy environments supporting grid operations
  • Familiarity with VMware vCenter or other virtualization technologies
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting/analytics tools
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and enterprise security standards
  • Experience supporting real-time operational systems and high-availability environments
  • Ability to interpret technical diagrams (network topology, system architecture, interfaces)
