Reporting to the Control Systems Manager, the ADMS Control Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing the control room’s SCADA, Network Management, and Outage Management systems. You’ll work closely with external vendors and contractors, as well as internal Digital Infrastructure, Development, and Network Systems teams. Based in the winterless North, Whangārei - this role offers a great opportunity with a great lifestyle.
Job Responsibility
Design and develop enhancements to both automated and manual processes to optimise workflows and ensure accuracy of operational network models and data
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to deliver dependent services and maintain high data integrity across GIS, ADMS, DSUB, and customer systems
Ensure optimal integration, availability, security, and reliability of applications supporting the operations control room
Maintain and support key control systems including ADMS, SCADA, Network Management Systems (NMS), Outage Management Systems (OMS), and advanced applications (Powerflow, AMI, ANM)
Support application GUI and back-end system administration, including Oracle databases and Linux environments
Requirements
Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering or technology discipline (preferred)
Experience with the ADMS but in particular the GE Vernova Series 6 (PowerOn Advantage) ADMS
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Interest in developing OT network expertise within the electrical industry
Understanding of generation, transmission, and distribution operations within an electricity network
Experience supporting or implementing real-time control systems, including Oracle databases, Linux, and Windows servers
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), ideally in a multi-cultural environment
Solid understanding of safety and environmental management
Ability to work well in a team while also being self-directed and deadline-focused
Willingness to join a 24/7 on-call roster every 3–4 weeks following training (details discussed at interview)
