We are seeking a dedicated Admissions Counselor to join our team and primarily support new patients entering the program. In this role, you will provide critical day-one support by managing the initial intake process, completing required compliance documentation, and gathering preliminary clinical information to establish early patient engagement. By streamlining these administrative tasks, you will ensure a seamless handoff to primary counselors-who utilize your initial findings to conduct deeper Biopsychosocial Assessments (BPS) and treatment planning, reducing admission delays and allowing our clinical team to focus on direct care.
Job Responsibility
Conduct day-one meetings and gather clinical overviews/histories from new patients
Complete required intake forms, including Admission Notes and BSAS Enrollment Forms
Submit clinical justifications, specifically ASAM recommendation documentation
Coordinate patient handoffs by collaborating closely with Admissions and Nursing teams
Assist the Admissions team with clinical screenings, referral coordination, and high-volume intake backup
Manage process quality by maintaining clinical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Train clinical staff on consistent and accurate system use and clinical workflows
Assist with workflow support, projects, and complete administrative tasks during low-admission windows
Requirements
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in human services, Social Work, Sociology, or related field from an accredited institution
A master's degree in a related field is highly preferred
Certification in alcohol and drug counseling, LADC I or II preferred
Experience or education in substance abuse treatment and mental health disorders required
2+ years of experience working in substance abuse treatment/mental health disorders is preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of military culture, experience in working with veteran population, and an understanding of veterans-related needs and issues preferred
Must be able to successfully pass a CORI/Background records check
Compliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy
Nice to have
