The primary purpose of your job position is to assist the Admissions Director in developing census and quality mix by providing prospective residents and/or responsible parties with appropriate information and assistance to the nursing center, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and Solaris HealthCare's established policies and procedures.
Job Responsibility
Assist the Admissions Director in developing census and quality mix by providing prospective residents and/or responsible parties with appropriate information and assistance to the nursing center
Handle walk in or telephone inquiries and document on the inquiry logs
At direction of Admissions Director, follow up on inquiries by contacting case managers via telephone or electronic referral systems
Conduct tours of the center and document clinical and financial information on inquiry form
Participate in community outreach events
Use formal waiting list policy and keep future reservations for residents
Review list of unoccupied beds and make preadmission reservations
Maintain a model room in the nursing center
Gather demographic or clinical information prior to admission
Enter new patient information into Matrixcare and scan/upload documents
Verify primary and secondary insurances, check FDLE
Assume responsibility for timely and accurate completion of admission contract
Explain rates and charges to residents
Present admission agreements to new admissions
Contact family for confused residents and schedule packet signing
Request and secure legal paperwork
Deliver executed admission contract
Check each room for new admission readiness
Assist Admission Director in training Admission team
Order and assemble admissions forms
Provide support to Care Transition Coordinator
Contribute articles to center newsletter
Assist with planning and executing community events
Reports observations concerning defects
Coordinate work with other departments
Attend staff meetings
Maintain confidentiality
Utilize supplies properly
Perform miscellaneous work assignments
Requirements
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age related needs of the residents served
Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level in which they are currently functioning
Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing activities
Must be able to relate information concerning a residents condition
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
Local travel engaging in outside sales calls, including periodic overnight travel, as needed or as directed by Administrator is required
Nice to have
College degree preferred
Sales experience, particularly in health care services, products or pharmaceuticals is desirable
Familiarity with long term care and/or health care services useful
