Job Responsibility
Assist the Admissions Director in developing census and quality mix by providing prospective residents and/or responsible parties with appropriate information and assistance to the nursing center
Complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner
Adhere to work schedules
Cooperate with department personnel
Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis
Treat residents, family members, visitors and fellow employees with courtesy, respect and dignity
Meet with Supervisor on a regular basis
Notify facility when late arrival to or absence from work
Adhere to established employee policies and dress code
Meet acceptable center attendance requirements
Ensure that all care is provided in privacy
Alert residents before entering rooms
Report all grievances and complaints made by residents
Report all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property
Handle walk in or telephone inquiries and document on inquiry logs
Follow up on inquiries by contacting case managers
Conduct tours of the center
Participate in community outreach events
Use formal waiting list policy
Review list of unoccupied beds and make preadmission reservations
Ensure a model room is maintained
Maintain necessary knowledge of served market areas, resident origin, and major referral sources
Gather demographic or clinical information prior to admission
Enter new patient information into Matrixcare and scan/upload documents
Verify primary and secondary insurances, check FDLE
Assume responsibility for timely and accurate completion of admission contract
Explain differences in rates and charges
Explain services and nursing home policy regarding payment of bills
Provide copies for families regarding limited liability treatment policy and legal surrogate
Give families a list of department heads and a resident handbook
Present admission agreements to new admissions within 48 hours
Contact family if resident is confused prior to admission
Request and secure appropriate legal paperwork
Deliver a copy of the admission contract to the resident
Check each room to ensure new admission readiness
Be proficient in Matrix, MVP, FDLE, all payer verification systems, Entrypoint, and all electronic referral systems
Assist Administrator in contacting families after admission and discharge
Provide timely follow up on family or guarantor complaints
Ensure a Greeter Club/First Impression Program is in place
Assist Admission Director in training the Admission team
Order, copy, and assemble admissions forms & booklets
Provide support to Care Transition Coordinator
Contribute articles to center newsletter
Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing community and referral source events
Report observations concerning structural, equipment and furniture defects
Coordinate work of department with work of other departments
Attend and participate in staff meetings
Maintain confidentiality of necessary information
Utilize supplies and equipment properly
Think and act calmly and logically
Perform any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required
Participate timely in in service training classes
Attend and participate in continuing educational programs
Participate in annual Solaris HealthCare in service training programs
Requirements
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age related needs of the residents served
Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level in which they are currently functioning
Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing activities
Must be able to relate information concerning a residents condition
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
Local travel engaging in outside sales calls, including periodic overnight travel, as needed or as directed by Administrator is required
College degree preferred
Sales experience, particularly in health care services, products or pharmaceuticals is desirable
Familiarity with long term care and/or health care services useful
This role requires Florida AHCA Clearinghouse background screening
